# Contact The Chess Calculator

## Email

<hello@thechesscalculator.com>

That address is the only support channel. There is no phone line, no live chat, and no ticket system. The site is run by one independent developer, so a reply usually takes a day or two and sometimes longer.

## What to send

Useful reports are specific. If a calculator gave a result you think is wrong, include:

- The FEN of the position, or the game link you imported
- The move the page reported and the move you expected
- The browser and operating system you were using
- Whether the page said the engine was running multi-threaded or single-threaded

Engine answers can differ from another engine's answer without either being broken, because depth, thread count, and evaluation network all move the result. Sending the position lets us reproduce yours exactly rather than guess.

## What we cannot help with

- Chess.com and Lichess account problems, including private games that will not import. Those belong to the site that holds the game.
- Requests to analyse a position for you by email. The engine runs in your browser, so we have no server that could do it.
- Coaching, opening advice, and game reviews. The calculator gives an engine answer, not a lesson.

## Press and links

If you are writing about the site, link the apex domain <https://thechesscalculator.com>. A machine-readable summary of what the site does, and when an agent should reach for it, lives at <https://thechesscalculator.com/llms.txt>.

## Privacy

Email sent to that address is read and then kept only as long as the conversation needs. The rest of the site's data practice is described on the [privacy page](https://thechesscalculator.com/privacy).
